Fluffy Curled Up or Docked Tails

Fluffy Tail

Before inserting the fluffy tail into the tail sleeve you will loosely strap it with an ace bandage or vet wrap (aka self sticking wrap)... securing the top and bottom ends under a bit of the wrap.  After tail is in the tail sleeve, and straps are adjusted the wrap will be pulled off the tail by pulling it out of the end of the tail sleeve.

Docked Tails

1.The tail sleeve can be trimmed 4" past the tail and folded up to one side and taped to keep it closed. The seam will need to be secured or it will unravel... glue inside the cut end of seam, or sew it, or iron in a hem ... these methods will secure the cut seam.
2. The way to use the wag strap is in this case is to use the 2 belt loops on either side of the undertail pad... then the other ends go between hind legs and up over hips. If it seems to chafe the inner thigh's the wag straps' other ends can be secured with red belt loop on underside of harness...see step 9 in written instructions. No slack in the wag strap in your pups situation. Just allow the tail to raise up enough to go #2, but not too high up or the tail sleeve will fall off.

Curled-Up tails

If the tail is curled in a C shape you can use the regular tail sleeve... however the wag strap will need to be anchored with the 2 belt loops on either side of the undertail pad... then the other ends go between hind legs and up over hips. If it seems to chafe the inner thigh's the wag straps' other ends can be secured with red belt loop on underside of harness...see step 9 in written instructions. No slack in the wag strap in your pups situation.  Don't use the belt loops midway down the sleeve... only the ones next to the undertail pad for the wag strap.
If the tail is curled in an 0 shape above his/her back  your pup may or may not be comfortable with the usual tail sleeve.  If not we are happy to make a "bag" style covering for your pup at no extra cost.
