WHY and WHEN dogs chew.
The first step is to protect it for the first two days. Why? During that time, a few things are happening:
* It’s new and unfamiliar to your dog.
* Owners are ensuring it’s comfortable, feeling under the tail, making sure the pup can curl up to sleep.
* Most importantly, those first couple of days give the tail time to hurt less. Even just two days can significantly help with the pain most dogs are experiencing.
