Trim or cut straps and Belts
Cut with scizzors and use small flame briefy on edge. It will look like new and won't fray & unravel.
Neck Straps
Neck straps are used to pull the harness forward on the body... a more stable position.
Girth Straps
Girth straps need to be snug, but allow two fingers to slide under . Girth straps should be close to front legs, but not rubbing on front legs and test it's fit by tugging left and right... it should stay centered.
Cutting Staps
Straps can be trimmed 5" longer than you need them. This leaves room to back-thread (lock) straps in place so they won't loosen. Be vcareful to leave the strap that begins at the hip long enough to loop through the belt loop under your dogs chest and back to the other hip. It should also be adjusted when your dog is laying down and curled up. It wont be taught when your pup is standing.
The wag strap needs to be long... so your pup must raise his tail enough to go #2, and to be fastened in a different location if needed at some time. It can be fastened in different belt loops on upper or lower side of tail sleeve and the other ends can be over hips, anchored under chest, or even over back in walking ring. It depends on your dogs shape and leg length where it will be most comfortable.
No straps touch the belly
If you have one there DON'T trim that strap because it isnt in the correct position.
Our Video on our website will help: The bold timestamps under the video will say HIP STRAP and will show you how to put the hip strap through the belt loop on the underside of the harness.

Tucking & Trimming Straps
At first you can roll the straps tightly and tuck into little pockets on harness or under the silver waist band of tail sleeve. When you remove it to wash it excess strap length can be marked and trimmed. By that time you should be sure they're in the correct position and have been locking (back theading) them ito place which requires extra inches.
